What Is PPF?
Paint Protection Film (PPF), also known as a "clear bra," is a transparent, durable thermoplastic urethane film applied to a vehicle’s painted surfaces to protect against chips, scratches, road debris, bug splatter, and minor abrasions. Modern PPF is nearly invisible, though colored and patterned options are now available, and is engineered to conform seamlessly to the curves and contours of your vehicle
PPF vs Vinyl
While PPF was once only available in clear-gloss or matte finishes, it now comes in a variety of colors and patterns, offering both protection and customization. However, this does not mean that PPF and vinyl wraps are the same. PPF is made from durable, self-healing urethane designed to protect your vehicle’s paint from chips, scratches, and road debris, and can last 5–10 years or more. In contrast, vinyl wraps are made from thinner, less durable materials and are primarily used for aesthetic changes, such as altering color or adding graphics. Vinyl wraps typically last 2–5 years and do not provide the same level of protection as PPF.

Warranties
When considering Paint Protection Film (PPF), always review both the manufacturer’s warranty and installer’s warranty for specific terms, exclusions, and coverage length. High-quality PPF usually comes with a 7–10 year manufacturer’s warranty, which is a good indicator of product quality. Anything less may signal a lower-grade film.

Before Installation...
Clean the exterior: Your vehicle’s exterior must be clean before PPF installation. While your installer will prep the surface, it’s best to wash your car beforehand to remove major debris, mud, and dirt.
No wax or coatings: Do not apply waxes, sealants, or protective coatings prior to your appointment, as these can prevent proper film adhesion.
